SAMSUNG – SOLVE FOR TOMORROW PROGRAM

Introduction / Scope of program

Samsung Solve for Tomorrow Program is a global STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) and Design Thinking based competition created to foster problem-solving skills while promoting the positive impact young minds between the age group of 16-22 years can have on our society. The program objective is deeply aligned with the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals (Goal #2, #3, #4, #7, #12, #13) and Samsung's vision of Together for Tomorrow - Enabling People.

The ultimate three (3) winning teams of the Program will be able to demonstrate a “Proof of Concept” that will be further supported for a prototype for consumer validation by Samsung. These prototypes may be ready for the consumer market, if it is a final product, however, Samsung will provide funding support, through its implementation partner FITT, IIT-Delhi, for the prototype activation only.

  • Roadshows and campaigns
  • Receipt and Review of applications
  • Online Design Thinking training to top 50 teams
  • Sessions and online material on Idea Validation, impact projections,
  • Prototyping, Design thinking, Design for Manufacturing, etc
  • Physical Bootcamp at IIT Delhi for Top 50 teams on design thinking
  • Training
  • Young mentor Buddies for the Bootcamp for top 50
  • Distribution of course vouchers to Top 50 teams
  • Mentoring and advanced sessions on business plans/ entrepreneurship
  • Distribute Samsung hampers to Top 10 teams worth INR 1 lakh (per person)
  • Business plan and soft skills development training for top 10 teams
  • Capping of Rs. 1.14 cr to top 3 winning teams based on milestones decided by Samsung and FITT
  • Distribution of Flip 85” to Winning 3 teams for their schools and Universities
  • Incubation support and mentoring for 6 months
  • Fund disbursement to the winning 3 teams basis the recommendations of a committee constituted for this purpose.
  • Submission of the final report
